Is there an ii referral code?

There is no Interactive Investor referral code
ii uses personal referral links, not codes — there is nothing to type in. Opening through the link on this page (or any existing customer's link) applies the six months with no monthly account fee. Capital at risk. We may earn a reward if you sign up through this link.
How it works
How to claim the ii referral offer
Three steps. The link applies the referral; you fund the account in time, into the right account. See there is no referral code if you were looking for one.
Open through the referral link
Open a new Stocks & Shares ISA, Managed ISA, SIPP or Trading Account through it. For new ii customers aged 18+ and resident in the UK, in their own name.
Add or transfer £5,000+
Within 12 months of opening. Cash deposits and transfers from other providers both count, added up across new accounts. Opening a SIPP? The £5,000 must go into the pension itself. Normal charges apply until you qualify.
Get 6 months with no account fee
Worth £35.94 on Core or £89.94 on Plus. Starts within 10 working days of qualifying. Core or Plus only — moving to Premium ends it. Dealing and other charges still apply; plan trading credits pause during the free months.
Until 30 November 2026: new customers can also get £100–£5,000 cashback on a new SIPP, ISA or Trading Account (minimum £20,000, added up across your new accounts). Yes, they stack with the referral. ii's written terms don't mention combining them, so check with ii if you want it confirmed. Stacking rules.
What it's worth
Six months of the fee, waived
New accounts start on Core and move to Plus once the portfolio passes £100,000. The saving follows the plan you're on.
| Core | Plus | |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly fee | £5.99 | £14.99 |
| Waived for 6 months | £35.94 | £89.94 |
| Annual fee afterwards | £71.88 | £179.88 |
| Portfolio limit | £100,000 | None |
| Included extras | — | 1 free trade a month, 5 family accountsTrade credit pauses during the fee-free months |
Worth knowing before you open
- Premium (£39.99/mo) isn't covered. Upgrading to it ends the fee-free period, and moving back to Core or Plus doesn't restart it.
- No plan trading credits during the six free months, so Plus's monthly free trade starts afterwards.
- The fee is only waived once you've qualified; normal charges apply until then.
- ii charges nothing to transfer in or out, including in-specie transfers.

The honest answer
Is Interactive Investor expensive?
It depends on how much you hold. ii's flat fee is dearer than percentage platforms on small portfolios and cheaper on larger ones.
- Under about £20,600 in funds: HL, AJ Bell and Vanguard all cost less than ii's £71.88 a year.
- From about £20,600: ii undercuts HL; from about £29,000, AJ Bell; from about £48,000, Vanguard.
- £100,000 to about £120,000: ii moves to Plus (£179.88) and Vanguard's 0.15% is marginally cheaper.
- Shares and ETFs only: AJ Bell's ISA cap (£42 a year) is the lowest platform charge at any size.

Where it loses
Where ii isn't the cheapest
A flat fee costs more than a percentage on a small pot, and more than a tight cap on shares. These are the sizes where each rival costs the same or less than ii, worked out from all four charge sheets.
| Rival | Costs less than ii, all in funds | Costs less than ii, shares and ETFs | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hargreaves Lansdown | Under £20,600 | Under £20,600 and over £100,000 | 0.35% on a small fund pot costs less than a flat fee. Shares and ETFs are capped at £150 a year, below ii Plus. |
| AJ Bell | Under £28,800 | At every size | 0.25% on funds, and ISA shares and ETFs are capped at £42 a year: the lowest cap of the four. |
| Vanguard | Under £48,000 and £100,000–£120,000 | Not like-for-like: Vanguard only holds its own funds and ETFs | £48 a year under £32,000, then 0.15% capped at £375. Between £100,000 and about £120,000, ii has moved to Plus (£179.88). |
Try your own size, mix and trades in the fee calculator — it shows which rivals beat ii at your figure.
When the gap is small
If a rival is cheaper by £30 a year or less (£2.50 a month), the fee check calls it a close call rather than a win. Two things can tip it back: ii charges £3.99 per UK/US share trade against £6.95 at HL and £5.00 at AJ Bell, and ii offers over 40,000 investments where Vanguard offers only its own funds.

Is it right for you?
Who ii suits, and who it doesn't
Likely a good fit
- Over ~£20,600 in funds. Cheaper than HL from there, than AJ Bell from ~£29,000, and than Vanguard from ~£48,000.
- Moving from Hargreaves Lansdown. A £250,000 fund ISA costs £875 a year there, against £179.88 on ii Plus.
- Growing a SIPP. The fee stays flat as the pension grows.
- Investing for family. Plus adds five free family accounts and free Junior ISAs.
- A wide choice. Over 40,000 UK and international investments.
Probably look elsewhere
- Under ~£48,000 in Vanguard funds. Vanguard's fee is lower until then.
- Shares or ETFs only. AJ Bell's ISA cap (£42/yr) is the lowest platform charge at any size.
- Over £100,000, all in shares. ii Plus (£179.88) costs more than HL's £150 cap.
- You convert currency often. FX is 0.75% on Core; on Plus, 0.75% on the first £50,000 of each conversion, then 0.25%.
- You want the most polished app. ii's app works, but isn't best-in-class.

FAQ
Common questions
What is the ii referral code?
There isn’t one: Interactive Investor (ii) uses referral links, not referral codes or promo codes. Open your account through the referral link on this page, add or transfer £5,000 within a year, and get 6 months with no monthly account fee on Core or Plus. Separately, until 30 November 2026, ii’s £100–£5,000 cashback needs at least £20,000 and has its own terms.
How does the ii referral 6 months free work?
Open a new ii account through a referral link and add or transfer £5,000 within a year of opening (added up across your new accounts). Within 10 working days of that, ii stops charging the monthly account fee or SIPP fee for 6 months. It covers Core and Plus only, not Premium, and trading fees still apply.
What counts towards the £5,000?
Cash deposits and transfers from other providers, added up across your new accounts, as long as they complete within a year of opening. If you open a SIPP, the minimum has to be paid or transferred into the pension, not another account.
What happens when the six months end?
Your normal fee applies: £5.99 a month on Core (up to £100,000) or £14.99 on Plus. Plus's monthly free trade starts then too. ii charges nothing to transfer out if you decide to leave.
Do I still pay trading fees during the free period?
Yes. Only the monthly account fee is waived. UK/US share trades are £3.99 on Core and Plus, and regular investing is free on all plans.
How do I move my ISA or SIPP from another platform?
Is Interactive Investor safe?
ii is authorised and regulated by the FCA. Investments are held in nominee accounts, ring-fenced from ii's own assets. If an authorised investment firm like ii fails and can’t return your money or investments, the FSCS may pay up to £85,000 per person, per firm. It doesn’t cover falls in investment value.
What is the ii cashback offer for November 2026?
£100–£5,000 cashback for new customers who open a new SIPP, ISA or Trading Account between 1 and 30 November 2026, tiered by what you transfer or pay in (minimum £20,000, added up across your new accounts). You must not have been an ii customer on or before 31 October 2026. It stacks with the referral; ii's written terms don't mention combining them, so check with ii if you want it confirmed. The £150 free-trades offer ended on 31 October 2026. ii says not to rush a transfer just to meet the deadline. Check ii.co.uk/special-offers. The referral offer itself has no published end date; ii can change or withdraw it without notice.
Does using this link change my offer?
No. The offer is the same whichever referral link you use. We may earn a reward from ii if you qualify through our link, which is how this independent guide is funded. Once you're a customer, you can refer friends yourself and get £200 for each one who qualifies (paid into an ii Trading Account).
